Diabetes management may be described as an extension of treatment of diabetes involving modifications in the lifestyle. According to a report by the Mayo Clinic, "diabetes management requires awareness", and it continues to exhort people to know "what makes your blood sugar level rise and fall — and how to control these day-to-day factors." The report further states: "When it comes to diabetes management, blood sugar control is often the central theme. After all, keeping your blood sugar level within your target range can help you live a long and healthy life with diabetes."[1] Some of the major points requiring such management involve food and diet, exercise, medication, treatment of illness, control over consumption of alcohol, awareness about stress busting and relaxation techniques, and even watching the hormones.
