Microalbuminuria

From Diabetes Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Microalbuminuria is the often first sign of diabetes related kidney disease. Typically, the kidney filters all protein out of the urine. In microalbuminuria, enough kidney damage has occurred, and some small protein fragments can escape into the urine. This progresses to albuminuria where more damage has occurred, and thus, larger fragments can escape into the urine.
